In this touching Argentinian drama, Abraham Bursztein, a retired Jewish tailor with a bum leg, journeys from Buenos Aires to Poland to find a long-lost friend, a non-Jew who nursed Bursztein back to health following World War II. Cantankerous, stubborn, yet charming, the 88-year-old Bursztein confronts his painful memories and emotional scars with the help of kind Europeans he meets in his haphazard travels. A strong cast sensitively plies its craft in a beautifully shot, subtitled film that moves determinedly along to a klezmer-infused soundtrack.
