When award-winning author Nir Baram loses faith in the possibility of a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians, he travels throughout the West Bank to examine the varied perspectives of the local population. The son and grandson of Israeli government ministers, Baram concludes that the peace process has stalemated on an issue older than the dispute over lands that Israel captured in 1967: namely, the Palestinian’s’ desire to return to lands within Israel proper that they lost in Israel’s 1948 War of Independence. This documentary, based on Baram’s book of the same title, scrupulously seeks ideological balance as it offers a fresh perspective on an intractable conflict.
