WHO WILL WRITE OUR HISTORY
followed by a 30 minute panel discussion THE COURAGE OF REMEBERING
sponsored by The Victoria Shoah Project
Sunday, November 4th, 4pm
In this dramatic reconstruction, Joan Allen and Adrien Brody are among the actors giving English voice to a polyglot cast recalling Dr. Emanuel Ringelblum’s efforts to record and preserve the minutiae of Jewish life and death in the Warsaw Ghetto. Their Oyneg Shabbes (i.e., “Joys of Sabbath”) Archive — 60,000 pages of writings and memorabilia — preserves Jewish history through Jewish words and work, to keep the Nazis from redefining them.
Director: Roberta Grossman
Runtime: 95 minutes
