Tovah Feldshuh portrays the late Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir and 44 other characters, including David Ben-Gurion and Moshe Dayan, in the film version of William Gibson’s critically acclaimed one-woman bio-drama. Feldshuh received a Tony nomination for her Broadway performance, in which Golda recounts her remarkable life, including the crucial decisions she faced as premier during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. The film has won audience choice awards at 11 Jewish film festivals.
An audience Q & A follows with David Fishelson, producer of both the film and the play on which it’s based.
Following the screening, film-goers can celebrate the Victoria International Jewish Film Festival’s fifth anniversary at the opening night reception featuring nibbles, bubbly and music.
